The reason for this timeline is that it is expected to undertake counselling about 6-8 weeks after the NEET result is released.

The MCC NEET UG 2025 counselling will be conducted online with the exception of the final round, where physical reporting to the allotted institutes for document verification and admission will take place.
What is MCC Counselling?
MCC Counselling is the common medical and dental admission counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), which is the committee of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. MCC Counselling is the official process for allocation of MBBS, BDS and other UG medical seats to eligible candidates qualifying through NEET across the country.
Counselling Highlights:
- It is conducted for the 15% AIQ seats in government colleges and deemed universities, AIIMS, JIPMER and central universities.
- State counselling authorities will manage the remaining 85%.
- There are likely to be 5 to 6 rounds, with more rounds subject to seat availability.
- Only candidates scoring above the NEET 2025 cut-off will be eligible.
- The exam this year was said to be of high difficulty - this may result in a decrease in the cut-off scores.
