- One last opportunity - This is indeed your last opportunity; there will be no further extension once the portal is closed.
- Safeguard against technical glitches - Last-minute traffic often causes the server to crash, payments will not be successful, and uploaded documents may not be submitted
- Take advantage of benefits - Your registration will get you into the GATE process for postgraduate admissions(MTech, ME) and potentially PSUs (if they accept GATE scores).
- Score validity and timing - Remember, after the registration closes, you can start preparing for the exam (which will occur early in 2026) and will be able to subsequently check your results on the portal.
What You Must Do Before Close of Day (October 9, 2025)
- First log into the GOAPS portal at the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Make sure to finish any remaining form filling - personal details, exam selection, academic details, etc.
- Upload scanned documents (photo, signature, proof of ID, category certificate, if required)
- Pay the required late fee (as per your category) - then submit the form.
- Last but not least, the confirmation page is important to download/save as well as note the charge reference and any screenshots that will assist in maintaining a record of the transaction.
If you haven’t applied yet, don't wait. Just go to gate2026.iitg.ac.in, go to the GOAPS portal, complete your application, pay the late fee, and press “Submit.” This is your last chance; the GATE 2026 registration portal will be closed.
