NEET-UG Exam 2021 sees all-time high in number of Registrations

NTA sees a record time high of first-time registrations for NEET-UG 2021 exam in the history of NTA. More than 16+ lakh students have registered for first-time for NEET-UG Exam 2021 across the country. According to the statement of NTA authorities, this has been the first time in history that NTA saw a huge surge in the number of NEET-UG registrations since its inception. The NEET Exam is one of the largest competitive exams conducted for admissions to various courses related to health sciences. 

According to the latest reports the NEET-UG registrations has increased from 11.4 lakh in 2017 to 16.1 lakhs in 2021.The number of candidates appearing for NEET Exam in regional languages has also increased in the last 5-years. This number has increased from 1.1 lakh in 2017 to 3.4 lakh in 2021. The number of registrations has increased nearly by one lakh in the period before the pandemic.

NEET-UG examination is conducted for admission to various undergraduate courses.

The NEET Exam is basically conducted for PUC or 12th students who are interested to pursue their career in Medical, Dental, AYUSH courses etc across India and abroad. After passing NEET-UG, the admission can be made to various medical colleges including AIIMS and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry and all the medical colleges of the country.

Women candidates dominate registrations for NEET-UG Exam 2021

According to the NTA authorities there has been a rise in the number of female candidates in NEET-UG 2021 Exam.  The number of female candidates has increased by 40.8% in the last five years, with more than 9 lakh candidates registering for the latest NEET-UG admissions.

The NEET-UG exam 2021 will be conducted on September 12, 2021. The NEET examination is conducted in 13 languages including 12 Indian languages.
