Every students’ life changes after PUC or Class 12th. This is one of the turning phases in one’s life which can change the professional life drastically. Many students will be in a sort of dilemma for choosing between different career paths and goals. Majority of students choose subjects like Physics; Mathematics & Chemistry move towards technical studies like engineering or any other related fields. While some students with biology/zoology subjects shift towards medical & life sciences related fields. MBBS: Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery

This is one of the well-known quotes about doctors, an MBBS can make the students that kind of doctors. The MBBS is the 5.5-years degree which gives students the power of doctor. After completion of MBBS the students will be considered as doctors and they can start practising medicine and surgery. In order to join the MBBS course the students have to qualify NEET UG exam to undergo counselling and choose their desired medical college. 

The MBBS graduates can easily join as Junior physicians in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, etc. The average salary of an MBBS doctor will range from 5 Lakhs to 7 Lakhs per annum.

BDS: Bachelor of Dental Sciences

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a 5-years undergraduate course that deals with the study of dental systems and oral health in the human body. BDS course has been the next best option available after an MBBS degree. The BDS degree doctors are known as dentists and are responsible to take care of oral health and dental health in the society. Dentistry has been one of the most popular choices as a career by many students after MBBS. The dentists can start their dental clinics in their neighbourhood. They can join as duty dental doctors in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, etc. For joining the BDS degree the students have to qualify NEET UG exam to choose their desired dental college in the counselling.

The average salary of a dental doctor may range from around 5 lakhs to 7 lakhs per annum. The earnings will be better if they have a dental clinic in their neighbourhood. 

BAMS: Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery

Ayurveda is the traditional Indian medicine that was discovered in India by the great doctors of the world Chakra & Sushrutha. The ayurveda is one of the most preferred medical treatments that has been a choice of many in the last 5 to 10 years. This has created huge demand for BAMS doctors. The BAMS degree is gaining a lot of attention in the last 5 to 10 years, with government encouragement the demand for BAMS doctors has increased in all the streams of medical sciences. The BAMS graduates are considered as doctors and they can join as ayurvedic physicians in ayurvedic hospitals, SPAs, ayurvedic health care centres, etc. The students have to qualify NEET UG Exam to get admission to BAMS course.

The average salary of an ayurvedic doctor may range from around 6 Lakhs to 8 Lakhs per annum. The earnings will be better if they set up the clinics in their neighbourhood.  

BHMS: Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery

Homoeopathy is one of the old forms of medicine that has been in demand. The BHMS graduates are considered as homoeopathic doctors. The BHMS is a 5.5 years long degree that can be done after completion of PUC or Class 12th. Homoeopathy medicine has been in great demand and this has increased in the last 5 to 10 years. Many patients are choosing homoeopathy over conventional medicine. This has created a huge demand for BHMS doctors. The BHMS doctors can join as physicians and consultants in homoeopathic hospitals, homoeopathic clinics, etc. They can even open their homoeopathic clinics and practice as homoeopathic consultants.

BNYS: Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences

The Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (BNYS) is a 4.5 Years Undergraduate course that can be done after PUC or 10+2.  The BNYS course basically deals with Naturopathy and Yogic Science and techniques. The BNYS students will be given in-depth understanding of traditional medicine and traditional methods of treatments like naturopathy and yogic sciences for various diseases. The demand for BNYS students has increased many fold in recent years due to change in the lifestyle of people. The students are not required to apply for the NEET UG exam to get into BNYS admission. The BNYS graduates are hired in ayurvedic hospitals, naturopathy centres, ayurvedic healthcare centres and spas etc.

The average salary of a naturopathic doctor may range from around 6 Lakhs to 8 Lakhs per annum. The earnings will be better if they set up the clinics in their neighbourhood.

Allied Health Sciences

The allied health sciences is one of the most underrated courses. But the majority of students are not aware of the bright future available in allied health sciences. The students can easily build an excellent career with allied health degrees. Courses like perfusion technology, cardiac care, renal dialysis, etc are having enormous opportunities for the skilled students. The demand for allied health science courses has been increasing in the last 5 to 10 years and it continues to increase in the future.

Nursing

The nursing field is considered as a bedrock in healthcare systems. The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 4.5 years undergraduate course. The course revolves around the science of physical movement aimed at preventing disease and disability. The physiotherapists are hired in different sectors like defence medical establishments, educational institutions, fitness centres, health institutions, clinics, hospitals, orthopaedic departments, physiotherapy equipment manufacturers.

Life Sciences

The students with biology/zoology can even join various life science courses like B.Sc Biotechnology, Microbiology, etc.
