MakeMyTrip Foundation's 'Padhte Raho, Badhte Raho' Scholarship supports 'continuity in school' for pupils who lost their parent(s) during the epidemic. Students pursuing education at the school, graduate, or post-graduation level will be given a set financial aid ranging from INR 24,000 to INR 50,000 to pay their academic expenses for a minimum of one year and a maximum of four years under this scholarship programme. Priority will be given to students whose dead parent(s) worked in the tourist and hospitality industry.

Eligibility

  •  Students who lost a parent or both during the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible for this scholarship.
  • Applicants must be in India and enrolled in 1st to 12th grades, as well as graduation or post-graduate studies.
  • An applicant's annual household income from all sources cannot exceed INR 6,00,000.
  • This program is exclusively open to Indian citizens.
  • Students enrolling in the academic years 2021-22 and 2022-23 will be eligible. 

NOTE: Students whose dead parent(s) worked in the tourist and hospitality industry will be given first consideration.

Benefits:

  1. INR 24,000 for students in classes 1–8;
  2. INR 30,000 for students in classes 9–12;
  3. INR 50,000 for graduation and post-graduate students  

NOTE: Scholarship funds can only be used for academic reasons, such as tuition, accommodation and board, food, internet, training materials, books, stationery, and online learning.

Documents

  1. A government-issued form of identification (Aadhaar card, voter id card, driver's licence, or PAN card)
  2. Admission documentation for the current academic year (fee receipt/admission letter/institution identity card/bonafide certificate)
  3. Document in crisis: Parent's death certificate (s)
  4. Proof in the hospitality industry: A genuine declaration from the deceased parent's workplace (s)
  5. Person(s) who are aware of the family's issue as a reference (can be a school teacher, doctor, head of school, college, or a government officer, etc.)
  6. The applicant's bank account information (or parent)
  7. An image of the applicant
