Rajarajeswari Medical College in Bangalore, Karnataka is one of the premier medical colleges in India. It is a private deemed college that was established in 1992 and is run by the Moogambigai Charitable and Educational Trust. The Founder of the college is Dr A C Shanmugam and the President is A C S Arun Kumar.

Rajarajeswari Medical College is approved by the Government of Karnataka, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and accredited by NAAC as ‘A’ Grade.

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) is a postgraduate course in the field of medicine. The course has a duration of 3 years of theoretical teaching with 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship. Eligibility Criteria for MD at Rajarajeswari Medical College

  • Minimum 50% aggregate in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a University recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) for General Category.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a University recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) for candidates under PWD Category.
  • Minimum 40% aggregate in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a University recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) for candidates under SC/ST/OBC Category.
  • The candidate should have obtained permanent registration of any State Medical Council.
  • The candidate should have qualified in NEET-PG Entrance Exam 
  • Minimum 50% aggregate in All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE)/PG Entrance Test (PGET)/Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM).
  • Minimum 40% aggregate in All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE)/PG Entrance Test (PGET)/Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM) for Reserved Category.
  • For candidates who have completed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from outside Karnataka, Migration Certificate and the Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences are required at the time of admission.
  • For candidates of minority status, certificate from appropriate authorities is mandatory.

Admission Procedure for MD at Rajarajeswari Medical College

Candidates seeking admission to Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses should mandatorily qualify NEET-PG Exam and the NEET qualified candidates are required to undergo two types of counselling:

  • KEA Counselling – candidates seeking admission to medical colleges affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) should undergo the counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
  • MCC Counselling – candidates seeking admission to government colleges and deemed universities should undergo counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). 

The steps involved for PG Medical Courses admission are:

  1. The NBE releases a notification about NEET PG Exam
  2. Candidates should apply for the NEET PG Exam with their details and information on the NBE website
  3. The exam dates are declared by NBE
  4. The exam pattern and structure are provided by the NBE through regular notifications and updates
  5. Candidates must attempt NEET PG Examination
  6. The results are announced on the mentioned date
  7. Students have to apply for KEA/MCC Counselling
  • State Counselling – candidates seeking admission to medical colleges in Karnataka can register with KEA
  • Central Counselling – candidates seeking admission to medical colleges anywhere in India can register with MCC
  1. After the Counselling Sessions, medical colleges are allotted
  2. College formalities, document submission, and fees payments are to be completed
  3. Report to the college when the academic year begins

Fee Structure for MD at Rajarajeswari Medical College

The fees structure of Rajarajeswari Medical College is decided by the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation (KPCF). This year, i.e. 2024, the fee structure was:

  • Tuition Fee: Rs. 5,06,000 per year
  • Additional Fee: Rs. 60,000 per year
  • Total Fee: Rs. 5.66 Lakhs per year
