The diploma in medical records technician course is a 3-years diploma course that is divided into 6 semesters. The course trains the students to handle medical records of the patients. The course trains the students and turns them into skilled medical records technicians. The course imparts training on different aspects of medical record collection like data collection, recording techniques, legal aspects, billing, computer application relevant software, record storage.

A medical records technician is an administrative job that primarily involves administrative tasks such as record keeping in a medical office setting. They do not have anything directly with the patient's condition, diagnosis or treatment. The medical records technician keeps the patient’s records updated and complies with healthcare regulations.

Eligibility

• The candidate should have passed 10+2 level (Karnataka PUC, ISC, CBSE, state boards) in Science stream with 40% (GM) and 35% (OBC/SC/ST) aggregate marks or equivalent from a board recognised by RGUHS with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English. 

• The candidate should have passed 10th with 40% (GM) and 35% (OBC/SC/ST) aggregate from recognised board

Duration

The duration of the course is 3 years for the students joining after their SSLC or 10th. While the duration of the course is 2 Years for the students joining after PUC or 10+2.
