What is NEET?

National Eligibility and Entrance Test, otherwise known as NEET UG is a common entrance examination for students who take up an under graduation course in medicine (MBBS, BDS) or a post-graduation course in medicine (MS and MD). Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examination Board, this common medical examination test is of very high standards.

Which medical colleges accept NEET results?

Almost all private and government medical colleges accept NEET results. This entrance examination was created to replace the All India Pre Medical Entrance Examination. During a period of time, many medical colleges refused to accept this common entrance examination and decided to conduct a private entrance exam for their specific college. Though this practice still exists in some colleges, most medical colleges across the country accept NEET results.

  • Last date to submit application: 5 April 2017
  • Admit card release: 22 April 2017
  • Examination Date: 7 May 2017

What are the various documents required to apply for this common medical entrance examination?

Students should first register online for the examination. The various details that will be required for the registration are Name, Date of Birth, Mother’s name, Father’s name, Mobile number, and Email id. The following educational details need to be provided during the application process:

  • Qualifying examination
  • Class X and XII – school name, percentage, pass out year

What is the minimum eligibility to take up this medical entrance examination?

  • Students who have completed their MBBS graduation as well as the compulsory one-year internship before 31 March 2017 can apply for the 2017 NEET examination
  • Students should have registered with the M.C.I./State Medical Council and have relevant documentary proof for the same
  • Students who are already pursing post-graduation in medicine are not eligible to take up this medical entrance examination
  • The minimum age to apply for NEET entrance examination is 25 years and the maximum age limit is 35 years
