National Eligibility and Entrance Test, otherwise known as NEET UG is a common entrance examination for students who take up an under graduation course in medicine (MBBS, BDS) or a post-graduation course in medicine (MS and MD). Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examination Board, this common medical examination test is of very high standards.
Almost all private and government medical colleges accept NEET results. This entrance examination was created to replace the All India Pre Medical Entrance Examination. During a period of time, many medical colleges refused to accept this common entrance examination and decided to conduct a private entrance exam for their specific college. Though this practice still exists in some colleges, most medical colleges across the country accept NEET results.
